The Walkthrough
The whole product, spoken out loud — 40 sections in 13 chapters, about an hour and three quarters end to end. Every section shows the words and opens the real screen they describe.
- Press play on a chapter and read along — the text below the player is exactly what the voice says.
- Tap “open the screen.” Each section links to the live screen it’s describing. Go look, click around, come back — the audio keeps playing.
- Pitching soon? The last chapter is the whole product in five minutes; most sections end with the one sentence to say out loud.
How to use this walkthrough
A listen-along script. Written to be read out loud, one section at a time. It teaches every screen in the app: where it lives, what it's for, what each control does, what information goes in, and what comes out — using the cases that are already built into the demo. Nothing here is aspirational; where a feature is a placeholder for the pilot, the script says so out loud.
How to use it: play it straight through for the full tour, or jump to any one screen — each section stands on its own. When you're pitching, the last line of most sections ("If you're pitching it") is the sentence to say.
Orientation — the whole app in sixty seconds
Picture the screen. There is a frame that never goes away, and there is a stage in the middle that changes.
The frame is two pieces. Along the top runs a thin bar: the CaseThread mark on the left, a breadcrumb telling you where you are, and on the right a row of always-available tools — Search, Ask, Learn, Help, text size, and the light-or-dark switch. Down the left runs a narrow sidebar: that is your table of contents for the whole product — your briefing, your cases, the unit dashboard, import, the registry, the sentinel inbox, evidence deadlines, the cold shelf, the field manual, agency admin, and an internal bench called the Lab.
The stage in the middle is one of two kinds of place. Either you are looking at your day — the briefing, or one of the unit-wide lists — or you have opened a single case, and you're inside its ten views. That's the entire geography. Everything in this script is either the frame, the briefing, a case view, or one of the unit-wide surfaces. Once you feel those four buckets, you always know where you are.
Here is the order we'll walk it:
· Part 0 — The frame and the ground rules. What the product is, the one law it never breaks, the cast of built-in cases, the always-on-screen tools, and how to read color and layout. · Part 1 — Today's briefing. The home screen: your unit's whole day on one page. · Part 2 — Inside a case. The case shell and all ten views, in the order you actually work them: investigate, build the case, deliver, plus the record and the 3D constellation. · Part 3 — Across your cases. Cases, entities, the registry, deadlines, and the cross-case Sentinel. · Part 4 — The supervisor's screen. The unit dashboard. · Part 5 — Getting cases in. Import, and the graded import drill. · Part 6 — Setup and governance. Agency admin. · Part 7 — Learning surfaces. The field manual, the practice case, and Ask CaseThread. · Part 8 — Cold cases. The restart workspace. · Part 9 — Under the hood. The internal Lab, and an honest list of what's real versus what's staged for the pilot.
