Try to catch it being wrong
An internal bench — not a detective's screen. Every synthetic case is scored against the answer key (the truth files), and you can paste any text below to watch the extractor and the offence classifier reason out loud. If the machine can't survive this page, it has no business in front of a case.
Where the offences come from
Florida — starter pack · v0.1.0 · 9 offences · updated 2026-07-16
Shipped with the demo. In a pilot this table is loaded from the agency's own RMS offence-code export and owned by the agency. Every row links the Florida Statutes (official text linked per offence) and carries its NIBRS code for federal reporting. The classifier can only propose an offence that exists in this table — it cannot invent a charge.
⚠ Police classify the offence; the State Attorney files the charge.

The bench — every case against the answer key5 / 5 pass
Pass = it proposed every offence the case really is, and nothing the key forbids. Labels come from the truth files (docs/truth/), which the engine cannot read.
| Case | Result | What the key says |
|---|---|---|
| 260614-153202 Riverside Occupied Burglary | pass also proposed: F.S. 810.02(3) (noise) | F.S. 810.02(2)(a) + F.S. 812.014(2)(a) The trap: The victim believes the noise was ~21:00. It was not the entry — the offenders were at a gas station 4 miles away at 21:44. A tool that anchors on 21:00 frames an innocent man. Never knowable from the file: the real identity of Scorpion Leg · the second occupant · where the Range Rover went after 23:12 · the Nissan plate number · the last two digits of the phone |
| 260621-158847 Kessler Ave Burglary (linked candidate) | pass also proposed: F.S. 812.014(2)(a) (noise) | F.S. 810.02(3) The trap: Same men, same method as SYN-001 — but nobody was home, so it is 810.02(3), not the first-degree felony. Never knowable from the file: who Scorpion Leg is · whether the phone is actually his · the second man |
| 260530-141096 Coral Way Robbery (weak ID) | pass | F.S. 812.13(2)(c) The trap: The offence is not in doubt; the OFFENDER is. A tool that treats the ID as settled convicts the wrong man. Never knowable from the file: who actually robbed him · whether the bus-stop CCTV shows the offender |
| 260625-160413 Palm Grove Burglary (control) | pass also proposed: F.S. 812.014(2)(a) (noise) | F.S. 810.02(3) The trap: It looks like SYN-001/002 on the surface. It is not. The refusal is the product. Never knowable from the file: who did it · the Honda plate number |
| TRAINING-000001 The Practice Case | pass | F.S. 810.02(3) The trap: A person's memory of a time is evidence of what they remember, not of what happened. Never knowable from the file: who took the bicycle and toolbox · the actual lock-up time |

Internal tool. Nothing here is shown to a detective, and the gold labels are never readable by the engine — otherwise the bench would be grading its own homework.
